Catholics for Choice works on a wide variety of issues pertaining to sexual and reproductive health and rights and social justice around the world.
In addition to the topics and issues listed in this section, CFC priorities include:
- Reshaping the abortion debate in the US in ways that acknowledge the complex moral dimensions of the issue, especially exploring and communicated values that include respect for both women’s rights and well being and the value of fetal life.
- Responding to the “moral values” debate in ways that enhance a moral vision that includes individual rights and responsibilities, sexual and reproductive freedom and separation of church and state, along with peace and the eradication of poverty.
- Working in coalition with like-minded groups and individuals to ensure that a progressive religious agenda includes sexual, women’s and reproductive rights.
- Monitoring and reporting on the growing activism of right wing Catholic groups, the bishops and their publications.
- Collaborating with UN agencies and international NGOs.
- Working to advance international reproductive health law and services in Latin America.
